Bio

I am a professor in the Department of User Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington, in Seattle. My areas of expertise are information design and technical communication. My wife is Jean. My grown and married daughter is Eva. I live in the quiet little suburb of Lake Forest Park. When I get a chance, I take my canoe out on Lake Washington. I use this blog to record memories, stories, and ideas that are meaningful to me.
